Wookie is a Havanese, as in, from Havana, Cuba. That’s where this breed is originally from. Wookie was supposed to be a show dog but he didn’t grow big enough! So at eight months, his owners decided to let him go and we got him instead.
Here’s Wookie with his first big bone. He has enjoyed burying and retrieving it, and telling me about it, as you can see by his muddy nose. Isn’t his moustache outrageous? I trim around his eyes to make sure he can see, but I avoid the tache because he’s got loads of whiskers and I don’t want to cut them. What to do?

Here are some turtles at a nearby lake, they’re almost as big as Wookie.

And what is this racket going on outside my garden? A bunch of greenies having a feed.

I love to watch him rolling around in grass. He squirms around in delight and I try not to wonder just what is so deliciously aromatic in that grass… Then he catches up with me. Here we are at the Men’s Shed enclosure. Volunteers keep the grass low here, I’m so grateful to them. Boy he can run when he wants to! Come on Wookie! 🤗
Back at home, some quiet time at the piano. They don’t call Havanese velcro dogs for nothing. Here he is on my lap. Not just on my lap mind, but on my hands while I play Stevie Wonder’s “Overjoyed”. Mr. Sticky Beak. My fingers were reaching around as I tried to be still. Nice way to end an evening. Bye for now from me and Wookie 🐾.
