Tonight is the last time I will play my Beale piano in my home. Tomorrow, she’s going to a family I have grown to love. I’ve cleared out the mezzanine, been sipping on Singleton, and thought I ought to play something. This Beale has been symbolic of me making roots in Australia. She’s going to some lovely people and next time I see her will be via Zoom next week when I teach two beautiful boys! Haha. Life is good. This is called, “The Nearness of You,” composed by the wonderful Hoagy Carmichael.
I will introduce you to what’s taking her place, after I’ve pinch myself lots and realise that yep, we are really doing this 👊.
