Welcome to my blog, which is about being a pianist and living in the Scenic Rim, in Queensland Australia. There’s also something about my first blog, which was about musicians, and which later became a book.

Thank you for visiting!

Dear Joanna, Thank you for sharing your life journey and it’s inspiring to see that it’s never too late to accomplish anything. I’m in my mid 20s. I played piano since I was 7 and got my AMEB grade 8 when I was 15. I love music, but I didn’t pursue it as my career. I have been studying and working in scientific research but recently going through a change and studying postgrad diploma to become a secondary science teacher. Earlier this year an ex-colleague offered for me to teach her 7 years old and 12 years old piano and just like you said, it has been very rewarding watching them improve just over the course of a few months! I am still not confident enough about music pedagogies and whether I am good enough to be accepting more students. It would be good if I could learn from your experiences! Thanks for reading my long introduction!

Hi Ruby, being in your mid-20s you have plenty of opportunities to find your calling 🙂 You may end up doing several things well, or change directions a few times in the course of a lifetime. Sound like you are interested in working with students whether in a science or music capacity. It’s great that you have options.

It looks like you are based in Brisbane. Perhaps we could meet over coffee one day 🙂
