Roaring Lion is playing shows in Mackay and Emerald this weekend. It’s our first flights together as a band and everyone has been super excited.
Here are a few pix from the journey. There’s plenty more posts about the weekend on our Facebook page and on Instagram.

Thoughts:
As the stakes get higher I find myself becoming more anxious. That’s not bad in itself — I love the pressure and how my music responsibilities are evolving. I never imagined being passionately immersed in rhythm and the bubble. I can get lost in it, searching for that sweet spot being both rhythmically solid on the half beat but keeping the touch light with a loose wrist and finger joints.
But I have a lot of moving parts now, and am in the world of multiple patches on multiple boards, and dealing with unequal sound levels, live.
But I don’t want to give up any of it, haha! So I will just keep tweaking and learning how to own my boards better and have the presence of mind to take charge of my sounds and resolve issues on stage without having a panicked mind freeze.
Bass player T (Taria) is next to me on stage and is a really assuring presence. He really helps me with my foldback and what to turn up and down.
Okay, will leave this here. It’s the next morning and we are off for breakfast and then on to Emerald.
